Annoying smug blokes…
Thanks for the great insight into cycling in Vietnam! I'll be moving there with my wife soon and plan on doing a lot of cycling there 🙂
I just realized I need to go bikepacking
Stumbled on your channel and was pleasantly surprised that yall did a trip to my hometown! You and Dustin Klein inspired me to actually save up and switched out my motorbike for a Specialized!
Wish we could have had a run down of James' bike as well! Just for inspirations sake.

@franciscade could you please tell me which fork mounts you use to carry the bottles. Thanks.
9:36 .. James drunk AF – He's even doing that drunk finger pointy thing
Next time Lawrence does that to your beer, put your finger in the top of it and spray it all over his silly face.
"Before that, we need to go to the pub." Exactly right
First that music is fucking shocking you triangular muppets
slick bike Francis – have a safe trip guys – good video and Lawrences are awesome as well. James sure has plenty to say 🙂
Excited to see how this goes for you guys! Motorbiking there was so beautiful. Hai Van Pass will be stunning!
I loved following your adventures in Oz and I know this will be another epic one. Stay safe boys and have fun x
Been looking forward to this
Drunk James is my favourite thing
looks amazing there, ride safe!
Sticky, you say? https://www.jam-cycling.com/collections/uni-cycle/products/unicycle-cold-dark-north-bidon
Drunk James. Always value for money! 🙂
What do you guys do about locking your bikes? Cafe lock or something a bit more heavy duty?
Hanoi was not at all what I expected… will be interesting to see the rest of the country and if the wealth ends there.
Every city needs a roof top bar.
Looking fwd to this trip lads place looks crazy excited for rest of videos. Tk you
First huge mistake .. never change currency in your home country .. poor exchnage rate. Channge a small amount at the airport in Vietnam and then change more in a major centre in Vietnam
Great episode 1.
99 bottles Of beer on the wall clink 😂
Safe travels. Will be watching the whole way.
I absolutely love that country. Spent four months there over the summer. Tell Lawrence to go to Shin Ca Phe in Saigon for the best croissants of his life (also great coffee). I'd recommend Workshop coffee for food (pastries and proper food) and coffee as well. Look for good bun cha (not you Francis) as it's for sure one of the great dishes of Vietnam (particularly in the north, so much so that it has it's own style called bun cha hanoi). However, not all are created equal. Spend some of your evenings at bia hois. They're basically open air joints where you drink super fresh, cold, delicious, cheap beer on the street watching the world whiz by. The people are pretty much all amazing (some scammy stuff, but extremely little and far between). Visit Da Lat on your way south. Higher elevation and much cooler year round, and in general just a cool little city. Cheers guys! Have fun!
I'd like to see some bike shops there, what do people ride from utility bikes to the road scene?
Thank you Francis, James and Lawrence for documenting this cool trip.
At the end, which shop!?!?!?!
Bon Voyage, I can't wait to live out this trip vicariously via Youtube.
Best of luck fellas, looking forward to the videos to come 👍🏻
how to cross a road in Vietnam just walkout simple yeah expensive beer should be should be 33 pence on road side stops.. remmber always adk the price before ordering anything and which one of you guys will get their phone stolen first lol enjoy vietnam
I think James really is a millionaire not Dongs either, the bike fitting i s just his folly😆. James is in beer heaven i knew beer would be mentioned more than once on day one. Vietnams economy is rapidly rising its still an affordable place for travelling.
I'm with you on the veg for this trip! Good luck the three of you 👍🏻
Fantastic start to Vietnam god knows how Vietnam will survive you three😎👍🇦🇺
