Lunacy (Saturn) Playthrough – NintendoComplete

A complete playthrough of System Sacom and Atlus’s 1997 Sega Saturn FMV horror adventure, Lunacy.

The video was recorded straight off a US Sega Saturn deck through an X-Capture 1 card.

I rescued everybody that could be rescued, and show the secret video bonuses that are only accessible from the first CD once the game has been completed. These are at the end of the video, following the end credits and disc change.

It’s very much like D, but with a very different style of atmosphere, and the music is incredible. The game is incredibly difficult by FMV game standards, but once you’ve got it memorized, it really poses no difficulty at all 🙂 Hope you all enjoy it!

  • Always dug the track that plays 1:41:55, but I can't find it in any of the available OST for this game. Any idea which track it is?

  • This so called game combines the worst aspects of modern walking simulators and old school point & click adventures, but because it's a rare game on the Saturn and has bizarre (more like crap) graphics and animations people act like it's a gem. Any other game whose gameplay loop consisted on blindly trying every door and NPC every time something happened to try and trigger the next event, and at times required you to do the same action several times for something to happen would be called out for it. Praising nonsense like this is the ultimate mark of hipsterdom.

  • I have the fondest memories of this game. It has always been overlooked, but I remember discovering it, completely randomly in a shop, in my father's hometown in Greece, of all places. I had a Saturn at the time, but due to it's poor popularity, it was so difficult to find more than five saturn games at each shop, and I already owned all the good ones. But the atmosphere in this one.. So unique and artistic, almost "lynchian" in a way.. truly a lost gem

  • This is a game I had the pleasure to experience last Christmas with a real Saturn. The music, characters, the red sky and sunset look completely took me. It's a fantastic adventure game.

  • It’s funny how certain visuals and whatnot leave such strong impressions on you where you are little. This is one of the first games I ever got and I never beat it. It was a little above my head. But that red eerie sky I never forgot it. It’s got a mood all it’s own that would show it’s self in my nightmares as a kid.

  • Does this game have a bad ending if you fail to save any hostages in this game?

  • I'm playing this game but I messed up with the music boxes…. Fortunately, i have two saves, one of them at the beginning of the 2nd CD.

  • Loved this game 20 years ago. Still have it along with my old Saturn but of course it's probably incompatible with the TVs today. The first thing this game reminds me of is The Prisoner. Misty Town is very much like The Village in which Number 6 finds himself.

  • Arguably the greatest fmv game I've ever played. Stumbled upon it in 2006 and I'm still mesmerised by it's music, atmosphere and characters. A true gem.

  • Just found  this this at a local video game store yesterday. It's only $55 granted it doesn't have a case I have got to go back and buy it today. They also have a complete in box copy of D for $30! Looks like I'm going to have to buy them both!

  • What happens if you choose not to save anyone or everyone by letting them die from freeing them too soon? Does it impact the ending at all?

  • Just saying, this game is quite amazing. That soundtrack really is something else. Enjoyed this more than D.

  • I swear that bald guy is the first person i've met to have some bizarre butterfly fetish O_P…..

    "Butterflys are gods creatures…"

"That nectar is tasty…I use it to catch butterflies…"

"I love wrapping their silk around my penis so when it becomes erect it pops out…like a butterfly"

…ok maybe he didn't say that last part but give him enough time I'm sure he would X/!

  • If anyone sound of mind has ever wanted to experience a bout of delirium tremens, this is the ticket!

Lunacy really is a phenomenal game. It plays a lot like D, and was released as a Saturn exclusive.
