Apple acquires Beddit sleep tracking app

Written by

There is a rumor going on that Apple has plans on acquiring a company that’s around the size of Netflix, or even Disney, and now another type of acquisition has been made. Apple has officially acquired Beddit company, which is a popular sleep tracking platform that has apps for iOS and the Apple Watch’s watchOS. Apple can go for sleep tracking devices or other types of integrations which will add value to the users.

As noted by the report from 9to5Mac the specific details of the acquisition are not known right now, but they will go in public with a new design.

Until then, the Beddit iOS app has been updated to reflect the acquisition, and therefore the change in ways it collects data:
“Beddit has been acquired by Apple. Your personal data will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.”

Beddit is popular for releasing hardware, which is designed to go under the sheet on a bed where it can better track your sleep habits. Of course, it’s likely that Apple’s plan for acquiring Beddit is more on the software side of things, with sleep tracking being one of the most oft-requested features for the Apple Watch.

WWDC’17 is coming near, you can expect new things in the event. So keep fingers crossed and wait for it.

Do you use Beddit on your Apple Watch? Let us know, how’s it.
