Touch ID Fingerprint scanner is one of the key features of iPhone since the launch of iPhone 5S. Apple is improving it in it’s every iPhone update. According to JPMorgan analyst Rod Hall, Next upcoming iPhone may have facial recognition instead of a fingerprint reader this time Apple may replace its fingerprint scanner with a face scanner on the next iPhone 8 / iPhone X,
Maybe a front-facing 3-D scanner could replace the home button, which could be phased out if Apple goes with a full-glass front screen this year. For these things Apple needs to be more secured Biometric facial scanning will also be working in the Apple Pay, it will make things easier for the consumers. Like this year iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus lost the home button and adapted to virtual buttons and the in wet conditions it was unusable as it can’t detect your wet fingers so, for that, facial recognition will be a better choice for Apple.
According to CNBC, Other industry watchers, like Gene Munster of Loup Ventures, have speculated that Apple is likely working on an augmented reality platform using 3-D sensors in phones. While this may eventually be true, JPMorgan expects the feature is more likely to be used with clothing sizing, home improvement measurements and scanning for 3-D printing. Android has this feature but we all know that Apple makes things better than any androids.
Apple’s chief financial officer Luca Maestri said that chips and sensors are among the most “strategic” and “important” Apple investments. So let’s see what’s coming for us this year.
