New iOS 10.1 betas, macOS Sierra Beta released
Today Apple has released the 5th beta of iOS 10.1 with lots of improvements and bug fix. Mainly it fixes the cellular connectivity issues in the iPhones. It’s the 2nd iOS 10.1 updates in a week which show us that, Apple is working rapidly on this iOS 10.1 updates as it brings the new featured iPhone 7 Plus Boken Portrait mode effect. The iOS 10.1 beta 5 is a larger download, weighing in at 1.95 GB. The beta is available to registered developers. Apple has also pushed out the beta 5 for macOS Sierra 10.12.1. If you want to install the iOS 10.1 beta then you can register your iPhone/iPad/iPod UDID to Apple Developer Account > here.
Today’s iOS 10.1 beta is one of the larger of all the beta releases we have got. I have never seen such beta file size yet. The release notes for beta 5, once again don’t note any new fixes in this build. This behavior has been consistent for the past few betas of iOS 10.1. iOS 10.1 beta 4’s release notes hadn’t noted any fixes, but with beta 5’s large file size, we are expecting to see at least some notable changes. I am currently updating my iPhone 7 Plus from beta 4 to beta 5 now. Will post more updates on this when my iPhone is updated.
Aside from Portrait mode in the iOS 10.1, we have noted some more changes:
There’s a new toggle setting in Accessibility called Auto-play Message Effects. This is related to Reduce Motion disabling Messages bubble and screen effects but the functionality does not seem to be implemented yet.
According to the developer release notes, iOS 10.1 includes a fix for motion handling. Developers will be able to access barometric pressure data for iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro. Thanks all for now.
