How to Install any watchOS beta on Apple Watch

How to Download and Install watchOS Beta on Apple Watch

First of all, you need to Unpair Your Apple Watch with iPhone or reset your watch to the factory settings. (To reset your Apple Watch to factory settings, head over to Settings app on your watch → tap on General → tap on Reset → tap on Erase All Content and Settings → enter passcode then tap on Continue to confirm.)

Just reset your smartwatch to factory settings as it’s easy and can be done instantly without iPhone. Or you can do it on the iPhone also. Your choice!

Next up, you have to download & Install the latest iOS Beta on your iPhone from developer portal using your developer account. (Make sure you have registered for the beta program >.)

Install watchOS beta on Apple Watch

Notes: You need to make sure that your Apple watch hasat leastt 50% charge. Better if you keep your watch connect to power while it’s updating.

First of all, Make you sure that, your Apple Watch UDID (SEID) is registered to an Apple Developer Account, if you have registered yet then you can register your iPhone ,Apple Watch, iPad UDID to Apple Developer account here >

Another thing, You need to have the latest iOS beta installed on your iPhone to install WatchOS beta’s on your Apple Watch, else you can’t update. So before updating Apple watch, Update your iPhone to iOS 10.3.3 or the latest beta first. If you have not updated your iPhone to iOS 10 yet, then follow this article to update your iPhone/iPad/iPod to iOS 10.

(Tips: To findout your apple watch udid go to Settings > General > About > SEID is your udid.

Step #1. You need to Pair your Apple Watch with iPhone. Make sure that that iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi and placed near the watch.

Step #2. Download the watchOS  beta configuration on your iPhone from Apple Developer site / our download section, there is the watchOS 3 beta profile, download it.

Step #3. Open the Profile and then tap on Apple Watch as the location to install the watchOS beta. You will need to reboot your device when asked.

Step #4. Launch Apple Watch app → go to General → tap on Software Update. You may be asked to enter your passcode.

The update process will start off. Once it has has been successfully completed, your device will reboot. That’s all! Now you are in WatchOS 3.

Few Important things:

– Don’t update to any iOS beta’s without registering UDID to an Apple Developer Account to avoid bricking your iPhone/Apple watch. Register your iPhone,iPad, Apple Watch to Apple Developer Account here.

– As Apple Watch has no cables, so you can understand how important it is that you follow each step properly, else if you screw any step, you might end up destroying your Apple Watch.

– Ensure that, your watch is connected to power throughout the process.

– You must have iOS latest beta on your iPhone to install the WatchOS 3.3 or any beta on the Apple Watch.

– You can’t pair an iOS 9 iPhone to A WatchOS 3 running Apple Watch.
