For a while, I suspected the problem to be a software one. After all, my brand new Macbook pro should be able to handle basic animations such as Exposé or quick app switching. But after waiting for Apple to fix this issue, it appears users experiencing sluggish UI animations on Yosemite have to resort to a good old workaround, as shared by one chatty Genius.
Fix slow UI animation problems of OS X Yosemite:
As it turns out, going to > System Preferences > Accessibility > Display, and ticking the Increase Contrast box does the trick.
Ever since doing this, both my Macs feel snappy again. Of course, you lose some of the transparency effects so dear to Jony Ive and you have to deal with sharp contrasts, but at least you regain those previous milliseconds of productivity you had lost to stuttering. As someone who spends the vast majority of my days at my computer, this is a sacrifice I am willing to make. After making this change my macbook got my horse speed but i had to sacrifice some of the transparency effect though it doesn’t feel good. Apple should fix this issues permanently on the next OS X update. Yesterday Apple released the OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, and also the iOS 8.1.3 with lots of fixes. However still the best iOS is iOS 8.2 beta 4, if you are interested to use iOS beta latest versions then you can register your iPhone iPad iPod udid to Apple Developer Account by us and get access to All ios beta’s for 1 year. By registering your device udid by us you are saving $85 usd individually. I hope this helps you out to fix the OS X issues.
Let us know if you got any better solution of this problem. Cheers.
