iTunes 11.1 Kills Custom IPSWs Restore for iOS 7

A popular iOS hacker iH8Sn0w told via twitter that iTunes 11. as killed the ability to perform custom IPSW restores for iOS 7. More technically, iTunes 11.1 recalculates the partial-hash of every img3 instead of using the ones in BuildManifest.plist.

We have also heard that new iTunes 11.1 update also breaks iREB on s5l8900x devices, such as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2G, and iPod touch 1G.

In other news, iTunes 11.1 also breaks iREB on s5l8900x devices (iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, and iPod touch 1G).

It’s a bad news for all people who likes to custom restore because itunes doesn’t support resume while downloading a firmware or without custom restore you can’t preserve baseband so its serious issue for many people and jailbreak community.
